Ice Cave

6x6cm silver chloride contact print

Another from Christmas morning at one of my favorite places, McConnells Mills State Park. This was made under the Alpha Pass waterfall. I'm thankful for my new acquisition of grade 2 Azo and the effectiveness of a water bath... The neg is full of information but there was some major contrast, it was way too hot on my Lodima. I could have spent all day in this spot if my extra film hadn't been such a distance away. oh, and the paper has a bit of texture to it (e surface) which is slightly visible in the scan.

I can imagine how contrasty that must have been, you have controlled it well....nice shot.
BTW, I see you are using new TMY in Rodinal, semi stand, how do you like it, and can you share the times and EI that you are using?
Cheers,
Tony

Thanks fellows. Yes Mat, these little things really draw you in.

Tony,
My recommendation for a starting point (for silver chloride contact prints) would be TMY-2 exposed 1/3 of a stop under box speed, 1:150 or so, for 40 minutes total agitating for 1 minute at the start and for 30 seconds at the halfway point at around 70 degrees. Hope this helps. Shawn
