tone and texture are fantastic but what really jumps out for me is how three dimensional this photograph is
 
I like both quince images but prefer this one of the two. What I want to know Wolfgang, is how you find all the time to do this superb work and the lith image experiments ?!
 
What a staggering image(s). This very much reminds me of Dutch or German still life paintings from the 17thC (Adriaen Coorte's 'Asparagus' in the Rijksmuseum or some of George Flegel's work). A real pleasure, thanks,
 
For me, it all comes together in a way which has anthropomorphized the subjects. They seem as though they are in a bit of a stare down... Very nice!
 
Fabulous tones & texture

Love the contrast between the shape of the fruit and the strong horizontal lines of the table

Fintan is right - the picture almost feels as if it is 3 dimensional
