Thanks guys! I spent a lot of time positioning myself--moving in every direction, until I started tiring myself out and just shot the photo.

Worth all the efforot indeed... I keep coming back to this shot. It really is cool. I am really curious about your lens also. 4.75" is quite short, and the coverage on this is more than the 5" petzval I have. What lens manufacturer is it?

Andrew--this is with the Gundlach-Manhattan projection petzval. I'm not surprised the coverage is a bit different because I've found some variation in coverage at equivalent focal lengths. I've got a very similar Gundlach lens in a 5.75" focal length and it completely covers with almost exactly the same coverage as a 5" B&L lens. If the 5" is your Cinephor II, then the different coverage might be due to the modified design.

After doing a lot of research and buying a bunch of lenses so I could get a a few variations (eg with or w/o vignetting, 4x5, half plate, 8x10), I should jot down some observations in the Petzval group.

I keep coming back to this, too. It's like you took a photograph of a dream.

Stunning image - it's pictures like this that will not let me give up on trying to get one of these lenses!
