Dominican Republic Coffee Mill

So that fancy DR coffee you spend mega bucks to get comes from a place like this. Looks like an old Toyota motor on a bench. This drives the machine that takes the husks off the coffee beans. The beans are then stored in plastic gunny sacks in the corner. All very "organic" you know.

im glad to see it wasn't a rodent that you photographed eric :smile:

i love these bare-bones coffee processing machines for hulling "wet process" coffee.
did they show you the tanks of the cherries that were sort of fermenting, as they waited
to be de-seeded ? far less work in wet process, than dry process, where they have
fields of cherries being raked, drying out/off in the hot sun.
