Anglo-Saxon Weaving Frame

Wow, great light and there are some beautiful textures in there. I reckon there is another shot in there, close up of the lower half of the frame and those dangly things.

Hi Tony. I know this isn't exactly just round the corner for you but if you do ever venture to the UK, it's worth a visit. This place is a serious archaeological reconstruction of what they believe an Anglo-Saxon village looked like between the Romans leaving in the 5th Century (hurrah!) and the Normans arriving in 1066 (boo!).

The day we went was very grey and damp and bitterly cold. The were no fires in many of the houses / workshops and the only light was frm a shuttered window and an open door. I was tempted to make this into a square format - cutting the top from just below the crack in the wall (top left). I intend going back there again this winter, when there's some snow (I hope).

Paul this is a nice capture with a great range of tones in it. I must admit I would do a vertical crop to exclude that high light in the top left hand corner. I would also agree with Tony about another shot or two been available within that frame if you have the lenses to use.

I can feel another visit to this place coming up soon. Mind you, I'll be waiting for a slightly warmer and dryer day than last time. I'll also take my tripod and the Bronica this time as I think you both have a point about picking out some of the details rather than the whole shebang.
