This is, I believe a successful photo. It has been decently printed. For myself, I generally appreciate simplicity in photos I take myself. I would also guess that I generally am appreciative of seeing that in photos taken by others.
In my opinion, the most important decision in taking a photo is the place from which it is taken. Obviously if one is unfamilar with the location then making statements about viewpoint can be troublesome. It is easy to advise someone that
they should have backed up 10 feet to take a photo which may put the photographer over a cliff.
That being said, I ask you to consider what the effects would have been if you had moved several feet to the right and maybe used even a lower camera position than you did.
Would you have the tombstones and the crypt set off against the sky with no trees
in the background? Would the crypt been clearly more revealed. I think that it is quite possible. If that was a possiblity, then you would have taken a photo that I think would be simpler and one that would be more appealing to me.
