Was generously loaned a darkbox to use on sat morning to demo wet plate. I took today off of work and used this morning to test out pouring collodion in the "field" - and to test out some fresh collodion I mixed last night.
Oakwood cemetery seemed a safe choice, lots of space, always empty, and close by.
Not the cleanest pours, but I'm still a learnin'
:)
Nice to see you mobile. Plates are looking good. I was wondering if you would go to the cemetary with wet plate. I thought about it after you were posting your 12X20 photos but I didn't know if you could drive up and set up shop.....
Thanks all.
Really makes me want to somehow patch together a darkbox so I can "travel" more often with the collodion. Hopefully I can figure out a way to make up a box.
Scott, the cemetery is a prime place for wet plate. lots of flat gravel roads, the grid of driveways through out the cemetery makes it real easy to set up. I set up in one area and just focused on shooting in that one area.
These are great, Matt! Your platinum work from the grave yards is really good too, but to me this captures the place and its spirit better. Very fine work.
