ON the Chase war cemetery there are New Zealand and British troops alongside the graves of their 'enemies'. The graves are tended by the Commonwealth war graves commission.
I have posted a similar photo before but as we approach Armistice day I thought a reminder of war's stupidity was apt.

The majority of these graves are of soldiers who died in the Spanish Flu epidemic after hostilities ended, in the case of the NZ brigade they travelled to the other side of the world, survived the horror of the trenches but could not survive 'flu .

Dulce et decorum ......?
 
Nice shot but evokes depressing thoughts for me. In the broadest sense, the world was and is a cruel and arbitary place. We are lulled into a sense of false security. order and meaning at our peril.
