Salem Methodist Church UK

A project Ive beun to capture the methodist churches in our area. Methodism is strongly linked to the labour movement in these parts , this chapel was built by a self made millionaire who owned local mines and tile works. He got into trouble with other mine owners in the 19th century as he paid compensation to a miner who lost an eye in a pit accident !
I've tried to get an 'old world' look to the print-comments welcome. Unfortunately the scan does not do justice to the lovely white base of the kentmere paper.

Top left and right may be a little too bright. On the other hand is the sky was burned in too much it might compete with the church so I am not sure. I think that Se is selenium toned? I wonder how it would be if sepia toned? Old buildings and sepia toning might be a cliche but often work.

Reminds me a little of a Methodist church in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The industrial Midlands, both northwest and northeast seem to be strong Methodist areas.

Wonderful architecture! My initial impressions (which did not go away after looking closely) are that the branches on the right are distracting, and I see no details along the left edges. Granted, I'm looking at the image on my monitor rather than on paper, but it looks flat; the building has no depth.

Perhaps the print has better shadow detail and a feeling of depth. There is so much of interest in this church exterior that I miss seeing it in all its glory.

Thanks for the comments , which I agree with. I as yet find it difficult to match a print with the scanned image but the sky could definitely go darker and I do wish I'd noticed the branches in the viewfinder instead of concentrating on the church.
Dokumol gives a really good contrast and the shadows/highlights are well separated in the print , this on paper printed at grade 2.
