Literary allusions aside for a moment - this is really a very well conceived and executed image. The placement of the bridge, with the darkness at the far end work wonderfully.

Thanks, it was a combination of the Nikkor H 28/3.5 lens and the time of the day. I really like the otherworldly almost fairytale feel of the photo.
