if you're concerned about archival qualities, then you should really tone in platinum, palladium or gold. After toning then fix, then the fixer won't 'bleach out' your prints.

You can selenium tone before fix but colour is not to everyones taste. Although the noble metal toners are expensive you use very little per print and of course you only tone the keepers.
