The Ilford MG IV shows a wide (reproducible) colour range with redevelopment in lith and is therefore been suitable well for the entry into the technology.
Influence on tone and gradation has the degree of overexposure of the print, the acidity of the bleach and the dilution and temperature of the lith-developer.
For this paper, a dilution of 1+25 (SE5 LITH) has proven to be optimal. With temperatures between 25-30°C, the redevelopment is completed after four to five minutes. The print should appear something too gloomily then, lights and mids are brightened up by the fixer.
