Nothing wrong with toast at 2 AM in my opinion. I have done it, but probably for a different reason than you: Rinoa was up and I was hungry. :smile:
 
So long as your interaction with the toaster does not progress beyond the occasional hug, you have nothing to worry about.

I also like the lower right image.
