A Slice of Western Kansas 2

Scanned from the first proof print. Taken with the new Kodak Tmax-400.

I seem to never have enough time when visiting this place. Lots of photographic opportunities here.

Comments & thoughts always appreciated.

What a great structure.

I'm feeling like I want a little more space on the left side of the frame.

Oh yes this location has great potential. I think that I would stand further back if possible to give a larger surround to the barn. The yellow filter appears to be the right choice but the vignetting at the top corners rather spoils the picture for me.

Cheers

It depends on what you're trying to do... personally I'd like to see WAY more negative space around it - but that would be a different photograph. What you have here approaches an abstract - since the close cropping all around forces the geometry of the structure represented to interact with the framing - in such a way the result nearly approaches a work of graphic design.

From a foreigner's( U.K.) point of view the amazing aspect of this building is the "little house" perched precariously at the top and you captured that superbly.

More space and you'd lose the impact of this

I would also like to see a bit more on the left, but hey, what an amazing barn! I can see why you love to photograph these.
BTW, what is your impression of the new Kodak?
Tony

Thanks Tony. This was my first time out with the new TMY, but I think its going to work superbly. Just have to learn its nuances, like always.
