Just returned home from visiting mom and she gave me this print from 1972. Me and my baby sister (who is now 44). The roll was left in an automobile glove box for a couple years before being developed (which only partly accounts for the weird colors).
Might be long ago and far away but the look takes me straight back to the early 70s and the instamatic signature. Maybe the glove box had an effect but I remember this look from film which was processed soon after use.
In terms of colour it reminds me of shots I took in 1970 of my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. It seems like yesterday sometimes until I have a few sobering thoughts such as both my parents have been dead for a good number of years and the wife and I are approaching our 34th anniversary ourselves! It can be chilling to recall the passing of time.
In those days any colour was better than no colour i.e. B&W was only used by the "poor" and 6x4 prints were about the max, both in terms of resolution acceptability and affordability.
We have come a long way since then. Pity the clock has been ticking steadily onwards though.
This has brought back memories of those days. Thanks
