Great photograph. I'm really liking the dark tones in this image and how they contrast with the misty light feeling coming from the mountain above. The sepia tone is great too. This is excellent work.
Ellen, I'll have to confess I really don't know that much about photography. Years ago I just felt like taking pictures and have always just shot what looked good through the view finder or ground glass...looked good to me anyway. I felt like the road belongs in this image as much as the store. You have the store, gas pumps, and half a car so why not the road. It gives the whole scene a sense of place. It's all in the eye of the beholder I guess. I appreciate the comments.
Thanks for answering my question, I can understand why you framed it this way now. It is just such great light on those trees in the background. I've photographed in Appalachia before; especially at this time of year and in October, the light is fabulous.
