Very nice tonality in the sky - beautiful.
How do you feel about that log sticking out?

thanks for your feedback.
Wasn't sure to begin with, however it has been there alonnnnnnnng time, remains of a pier of some kind. If am honest I would rather it been on a third but then i suffered from interference from the sun so was a bit of a brain ache.

In summary be nice if it wasn't there however i dont feel it detracts from the sky which was my main consideration.

What do you feel about it?

Leave it there. It ballances the composition, without it there the left side of the photograph would be way too heavy. it counteracts, and splits, the highlight on the horizon nicely.

The log is a good thing in this wonderful image. It would be less without it. It will be interesting to consider how to treat the upper corners of the image. I'll be interested in seeing what you do with it when you print it "for real".
