Winter Gunnerside Bottoms

Taken at same time as an image I recently uploaded, but this time in standard 35mm format with a 24mm lens rather than panoramic with an XPan. This gives more of the wider context and less of an abstract feel. I also feel the group marching across the right of way help balance the composition a bit more. Which one do people prefer?

I certainly like the line of figures. Yet in a summer environment they'd add nothing - might even detract. I think they emphasise the bleakness whereas in summer the bleakness vanishes.

again I'm a cropper so I think the real strong image is the bottom half of the image. The whole pic is good I just see a very strong lower part of this print.

First, these two shots are superb.....love the contrast here.
Have to agree wholeheartedly with Michael regards the crop, remove the hills and trees and you are left with a very strong image. Oh, and the walkers are great.
