Astonishing is the word that came to me when I happened upon this photograph and I am certain is not an exaggeration. The shadow play, pose and atmosphere is simply seductive.

The bar-like shadows across her skin and the 'echo' in the background are very effective and thought provoking. The contrast works very well with the contours throughout the frame.

What motivated the composition? To me the shadows suggest a form of captivity- reminds me of Rilke's panther.
