Mud, Glorious Mud

This is an estuary in the South Surrey part of British Columbia. When the tide is high, and the winds are right, it fills with brackish sea water, but when the tide is low...

I liked the light.

I haven't shot much TMAX-400, so this roll was a bit of an experiment. I think it is a bit overdeveloped, but it is workable.

Nice shot. I wouldn't call it over developed. I see a couple of spots for a burn and one for a dodge. Developing less for the highlights to be where you think they should be, would lose all the nice quality of light that the print on a whole exhibits.

Thanks for the kind comment.

My comment about development might be influenced by the other negatives on the roll, which are definitely a bit "meaty".

You are probably right though - the highlights that appear a bit blown out are mostly specular, so it doesn't hurt that they lack detail.

Hopefully I can get some time to get this printed.
