Why is it that whenever I see a photograph of a cat, not matter how well timed, composed, or printed, that all I can think is, "Awww... kittie!"

Speaking as a cat person I'm sure she'll love it!

Aaron, nice shot. I'm glad you like the Slavich Bromportrait. It takes some getting used to as the embossed surface is really funky. I am also glad to see that you can scan it without the issues I get with banding. One thing to try next with this paper is selenium toning. It can go VERY warm VERY quickly compared with other papers. How do you find printing using graded paper? Quite a bit different isn't it!

Thanks Justin  Don't worry, I am a cat person through and through and think the same thing when I see cat shots. I just hope she likes it! :surprised:

Thanks Andrew  I gotta tell you I HATED the embossed finish at first but, the tones of this paper keep sucking me in! I was going to try selenium toning for the first time tonight but, I don't have any gloves at the moment and to be honest, I had some other safety worries about using selenium so I decided to hold off for now. After a quick thread in the forums though I am feeling a bit better. Going to try and pick up some gloves tomorrow and, if I get a chance to print again tomorrow, will try my hand at toning.

Thanks Bertus and Antje!

Is this the cat in danger of selenium dregs? I wouldn't worry. I have had cats on and off for about 30 years and know of no other domestic animal which is more aware of solids and liquids that aren't good for them. They have a true sixth sense. She comes out well in this.

No, this isn't the cat I'm worried about. This is Curtis and he HATES even getting a drop of water on himself. The only time he goes near it is to take a sip out of his water dish. The one that worries me is Oliver. So long as it isn't water coming down on him, he is all about. You should see him after someone takes a shower. The second you turn off the water and get out, he hops right in, rolls around in the tub, and has a drink of whatever water is in there. Same thing with the sink. We can't even have a vase of flowers out because he will stick his paws in it or even tip it over to play with the water...LOL

Well the males of any species are of course a bit less astute when it comes to sensible actions. On this statement I stand before you as a male and rest my case!Something to do with females being equipped to produce the young of the species and bring them up safely. However trying water in all shapes and sizes is one thing and chemicals are another.

I believe even dim males of the feline variety have a sixth sense here.
