Michael, I've looked at all three. I like them very much by the way, but this looks like a film defect? Seems to be in the sky mostly, except in the first shot there is some on the church. Love the contrast. How are you developing? I've never had this problem with Efke 100 or 25.

When are you off to Yosemite?

I don't think it's a film defect, because it doesn't show in the film rebate, but maybe PE has some ideas about this.

You mentioned you were roller processing I think. This looks to me like uneven absorption of the developer. The solution would probably be a presoak and to use more developer.

I had the same defect on my Efke/Adox 120 film - I wasn't sure if it was my processing at first (very possible - I'm new to developing), but this looks identical to my neg. Otherwise, I really like the film.
(Must add, I've used a lot of this film and it has only spoilt 1 frame)

Jim, David,
I use a 2-5 min presoak in the tank rotating at the slowest speed it will do. then I use 1000ml of developer no matter If it is one negative or five being developed. Again I had other negatives in the processor that did not have this happen.

Jim I'm off to yosemite May 6th. with a stop first at point lobos for the first day on the trip. got everything ready except my new pack from photobackpackers which should be here with in the next two weeks.

I shoot churches and use the same film and developer except in 5x7. I've not had this problem, but it looks like a developer stain of some sort to me. Are you sure that all of the anti-halation backing is washed off? If you are using a drum, the backing may not be clearing on the back side of the film. Are you final washing in a tray or washer, or in the drum?

One more thought. Was the film chilled or frozen, and then thawed in humid conditions? This could cause moisture in between the film sheets, and could damage the emulsion and/or anti-halation backing.

Larry,
I have run 1000 negatives through this processor and have pre-soaked from 2-5 mins since the beginning and have never had a problem with backing. this was there before I wash. I take the film out of the drum place them in holders and wash in a SS tank. The film has been stored in 70 deg. temp.
To give you an Idea of how consistent the jobo tanks are. 2 months ago I was developing 8x10 film and didn't know one tube had split and as it rotated chemicals would spill out.even with that I got good development thank god.
