Brilliant composition - I like it.

How can you not be excited about the colours, skilled placement and choice of foreground and amazing light?
Seems like a successful expedition to me.

Thank you for your comments. I actually started my trip on the western side because the Sangre De Cristo mountains are much more spectacular on that side. Unfortunately, the land on that side is cluttered with sad poverty, and it was very difficult to find pristine shots.

Only when I drove to the western side and was granted access to a private ranch of 77,000 acres, was I able to real start to do some damage. It was still very hard shooting because of how vast the land was. I ended up shooting extreme wide angle or extreme telephoto and trying new things I have never done before. This photograph was something new for me. I was taking lots of chances with expensive film and was very uneasy about the whole experience. It was by the smallest of measurements the most challenging trip I have ever done.
