Backlit Pines

This will be a hard one to pull off. That triangle of light in the upper right is a bit distracting. The flare might be too much, too. I think one may just have to write this off as an interesting experiment -- unless there is more to the print than I am seeing on the screen.

I agree with Vaughn on this one, but you just don't know till you try. Unfortunately all these prints are very flat on my monitor and bother me because I know the originals are not that way and the fact I'll be there in 6 weeks with my 8x10 makes me just stare at this work and see anything I can learn from, which I do.

Thanks guys, yes the prints are flat on my monitor also. Michael, off the beaten path is the way to go at Yosemite. There was a nice amount of snow when Vaughn and I went. Have a great time. Vaughn, this shot was an experiment. I wanted to see if my 1860's portrait lens would do anything shooting into the sun. The neg has detail in the highlights. For this print I had to burn the upper right a bit. I'll probably keep this one as a silver print.
