Stone and Mud

4x5 silver contact print

I printed this last weekend after a friend looked through my 'take with me' prints and noted that she had seen a stronger mud picture on my website. I was really excited when I made this, the delicate swirl of tones in the rock look a little better on the print but when don't they?

Shawn great capture. While the mud would have made a great print on its own, the rock with the swirl really sets it off.

I agree with Mike... that is a cool rock!! It really does make the photo.

Are you sure it's a rock? It looks just like the snail shells that I find at the beach! Great shot either way...

Shawn, I like the brilliance of the print and how the smoothness of the rock is set against the textured mud. Nicely done.

All the best,
Dniel

Thank you. Barbara, I never picked it up so I guess I can't be certain... I felt it had an egg/shell like quality about it... something that spoke of life and I enjoyed it's position in the sea of dead earth.
