Here is a Polaroid from last night. There were people making tons of digital pictures all night long. I made a dozen or so polaroids and put them up around the place throughout the night. I was reminded that even though everyone can look back through their digital cameras People still LOVE Polaroids- something about the realness of the object and the experience of the place reinforcing and anchoring the emotions of the event.
Maybe because people are saying "wow!, that guy is spending $2.00 bucks a pop for these pictures!".
I love 'roids. I have a 250 and a Pro pack. I was sadened when they got rid of Time-Zero so I sold my awesome sx-70. I still have my spectra and I just missed my grocery store selling boxes of Spectra for 50% off!!
Great shot BTW. For the Spectra, try black tape a Wein peanut slave, sync cord, and something like a Vivitar 283 and a flash bracket. Looks freaky but its awesome. With practice, you can guesstimate the right exposure on the first try.
This is great! My kids each have a polaroid camera that takes the 600... though I think they may have discontinued it now. I love shooting with those cameras!! So do they. You remind me, I should pick up some more of the 600 before it's impossible.
I'm still happily using 600 film with an sx-70. Makes noise to cause people jump too; you don't get that reaction out of a quiet little digipix thingy I think polaroids will always hold a little market, just for being polaroids.
Nice little band pic. I like how you scanned it too because it makes it look more real.
