Mike I see using a purple Holga makes all the difference Why did you have to post this one, I just know it's going to be one of those addictive pictures that I can't put my finger on the "why is it addictive" factor.
Great photo! I love the tone...kinda dark...kinda light. If it were here, I'd say 'there's a storm coming'! (BTW... the beach is a lousy place to knit unless you like sand in your yarn).
Mike - great as always ... the thing that is confusing me is that there are no footprints leading up to the old lady. It seems as if she either flew there with a space-age jet pack, or she has been there since before the tide went out ..... a great surreal enhancement to the picture.
The similar design on the hat and the chair back make this work for me. The whole scene seems improbable, somehow, but the hat just makes it happen. The vignetting from the camera adds complicity from the viewer too.
Glenn,
The "Holga effect" is that it gives you what it wants to. You can't count on anything but rather just be happy with what's there. Also, not to sound redundant but there is a "fun factor" and that is the main appeal to me.
