The Diva, Sophia, in her dressing room. She's always begging to put on the dresses I wear on stage.
This is definitely not a perfect image -- it's slightly crooked, and I'm sure the bedroom furniture will bug some people. Most of all, I'm having a terrible problem with dust in my scanner, which you can readily see here. I'm still posting it because I like how the image feels.
I think it works, perhaps left hand side needs to be cropped but I'll keep my mouth shut since it's not the critique gallery...
Love the expression and the light, those are the essentials of the photograph, and it is brilliant.

Thomas, I go back and forth about a left-side crop, too. At first I assumed it would be better cropped, but after playing with the cropping in the darkroom, I think I like it as is better.
Not bugged at all, the furniture gives a story behind the pose. Now I know how to get my kids to pose more for me; bring out my dresses! (Oops, I ment the manly clothes in my closet of course.)

The expression....how I worked for it. LOL. Sophia loves being photographed, but isn't very used to the large format slowness yet. She has no problem standing so still, but it's definitely a challenge to get her to freeze what began as a spontaneous expression. An inherent challenge in LF portraiture, I think.
I should mention that the lighting is a mix of window and fill from a hotlight with an umbrella. Her room gets beautiful light, but I needed more fill than I could get from a reflector. It would've looked terrible in color, but with B&W it works well.
