This looks to me like a superimposed image which is okay. It works very well, and its very striking to your credit. Your title is appropriate. One of the galleries my work is represented in is begging me to do a "Lone Tree in Field". That is the title they have chosen for me. I have thus far refused to do such a thing. It looks like you stooped, and your title "Another Tree" suggests you are well aware of it.
Have you watched the new "Pride & Prejudice" movie. Yep, they too have stooped and there is glorious digitally manipulated "Lone Tree in Field" scene. However, your version is more unique than the movie's version. Bravo for you. You have benchmarked against a million dollar endeavor and came on top which speaks to your creativity. However, that fact remains you have stooped to doing such an overdone image, and to that, I say shame on you. Now please take all that amazing talent you possess and do something only you can do.
Thanks for the comments everyone. Stevewillard, I especially enjoyed yours. Not quite sure what to make of it. Ironic? A bit of a back-handed compliment? Completely tongue-in-cheek? Since I don't know you, it's hard to say. But, I appreciate your thoughts. BTW, this is not a superimposed image, nor is it maniputed in any way beyond the chemical process that I use. It is a 1-off, in-camera image.
This is a tree I pass on my daily commute and have photographed before. The title was just to differentiate it from the tree I posted previously. As far as "stooping" for this image, can't say I agree. Please show me something that hasn't been done before in some way. Sure, a tree on a hill is a cliche. But, I'd say stooping even farther are color images of sunsets and quaking aspens http://www.stephenwillard.com/. I mean come on, who are you trying to fool here?
Wait....Hang on....I'm holding my side from laughing so hard at Mr. Willard's comments. I love when these experts chime in. It is so entertaining......Wait!... let me catch my breath!... Ok now. Great wet plate work Kerik. You are definitely developing a very unique style. Damn nice Hoss! Robert
