I'm still playing around with various ideas for 11x14 printing. Here's one that's kind of borderless - the print is about 9x13 from an 11x14 negative. I've intentionally printed it quite high key. What do you think? Does this work?
Oh Yes, it indeed "works"! Excellent in my opinion. I feel that the right side of her neck could use a "nats eyebrow" bit of burning, but adding contrast would in my opinion totally blow it out! The entire S curve from the neck to the thigh is very delicate and near spot on. It would be possible to lose what you have if not being very careful. To heck with trying to change it, I like just as it is!
I like both the color and the tone. She seems both human and marble at the same time. Also the hand arrangment is very unique and this too has that dual quality.
Ian, what a wonderful print. I think it portrays both strength and grace at the same time. The composition is such that I don't want to stop exploring, especially her lower hand is beautiful.
I can tell on my screen that you've been very careful in making sure you have separation between skin tones and background. It's a stunning print, one that I wish to see in person some time. One of your best, in my humble opinion.
