Another example of why I am such a fan of Normans.
Norman, do you calculate depth of focus or sharp focus? What I'm asking is WHY does this image work so well. Do you previsualize sharp focus depth to determine f-stop?

Thanks for the comments and questions. To answer, I don\'t do any formal calculations to speak of, but I typically shoot at the smallest aperture possible (f/64 here) and use a loupe to focus as critically as I can on small details. The camera used was an 8x10 Deardorff. The lens was a Fujinon 450-C. No filter was used.

I love the razor sharp detail etched into the soft fog - nicley composed as well.
