this is my first shot with a jamin-darlot portrait lens. when i saw the polaroid i was amazed. so contrasty, so moody. and i love the smooth bokeh. i can't wait to do more with this lens.

i need to make a proper mount for it.. using tie-straps and gaffers tape to affix it to a shutter is not .. optimal. :)

50Ws of speedotron light through a medium softbox. shen-hao 4x5 camera, compound shutter set to 1/75. this is a flatbed scan of a polaroid 54.

It looks fantastic on the polaroid! I love the smoothness of the background. Nice shot.

Life is not easy on the brass land with small cameras! I too taped my brass lens to the front stand of my Chamonix 4X5 to test it. I am building an adapter for a small Packard shutter, hope it works out.

I have no clue what this lens is all about but this photo is awesome so I suppose it's a good lens.

Cheers,

phototone - i had the pack set to 400Ws and turned down three stops. That's 50Ws, right?

Beautiful...

It's like seeing through hundred-year-old eyes...
