Unknown Man

This image was the first image I ever took of a total stranger I was 14 and I went to Oxford Street Sydney and saw him there against the wall drinking.

This was the first of many portraits to follow. My goal of that day was simply to see what strangers are like when you confront them and ask them if you may take their picture. Oddly I found people were much more open to it the younger I was. Has times changed? or has my older age made people more weary?

I'd say it's a little of both, I think people likely feel more confident that a kid with a camera isn't looking to take advantage of them. Plus people (here, anyway) are much more wary of everyone, and everything.
