I really like the perspective of this shot.Near and far. It is one of the most interesting photos I've seen of "the wall."
 
but where are all the tourists? ..... it's great perspective+composition, and nice soft light (early morning?) .....
 
This is the best image of the wall I've ever seen. I love this.
 
Great work Mark. You've used the haze well and set the whole thing up with the nearly symetrical, dark light foreground. I love the way the foreground falls away to leave a mystery about where the wall goes from there.

What time of the year was this taken and what is the location?

The picture was taken at Simatai, 100 km northeast of Beijing, late afternoon around November 1. Obviously, there were other tourists. Not too many, so it was not too difficult leaving those out..
 
great eye and tones are done outstanding. forte does it again. but too bad there is no more.
