Prairie Creek, 1980

Thinking about an old professor of mine (Thomas Joshua Cooper) got me thinking of images from that time. Just thought I'd share an oldie.

Flatbed scan of a small print on 8x10 paper. Final size of image was about 7"x19"

This is from a cropped 4x5, and has always been a favorite of mine. Originally seen as a full-frame shot, but "rediscovered" going through my proof sheets.
Location
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, CA
Equipment Used
Calumet 4x5 (studio rail camera), 180mm Caltar f5.6
Exposure
probably f64 for several seconds
Film & Developer
probably Kodak Royal Pan in Microdol-X 1:3
Paper & Developer
Portriga Rapid 111, Dektol 1:2 Selenium toned
Lens Filter
none
Thanks! For silver printing, there is nothing better than a windless overcast day under the Redwoods (between 10am and 2pm)! This was in the Fall...even after the many years I can remember the yellow of the maple leaves hanging over the creek. That maple tree has long since fallen and no sign of it is even left.

It does seem like a memory of a special place and time... Beautiful image.
