A late afternoon infrared taken from the crater near Mono Lake near Lee Vining, California. There were ominous lenticular clouds before snow arrived at the higher elevations.
This is a neg scan; I fear that I need to intensify the negative before I can get an acceptable print. If anyone can recommend an intensifier still in existence, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise it is destined for KRST.
keith,
I have used selenium toner to intensified negatives before. I can't tell you the strength because I start with 1:20 and I have even used 1:4 so check Ansel Adams book on negatives and he should be able to tell you more. he also has mixtures you can do. also Formulary has pre-mixed intensifiers available. you may want to call them they are a sponser on apug and you can get there website.
greaat shot. hope to stop by Mono lake next spring when I go to yosemite.
Mike, I just ordered a Cr and also a Ag intensifier kit from the formulary, I'll try both out and see which works best for me. Thanks for the tip, I didn't realise that these were still available. I have gotten some benefit from selenium, but these are a bit beyond that and I don't mind some grain if it makes the neg printable.
