I managed to procure a copy of Tim Rudman's excellent 'The Photographer's Toning Book' and was immediately inspired to try some new toning tricks!
This is my first attempt at selective toning and it's rather crude.
The process was long-winded involving applying the bleach with a fine brush and stopping every few seconds to wash off the bleach before it had time to bleach too far (not always successfully) followed by a five minute wash then toning in sepia. Then a 30 minute wash then an overall light tone in gold to enhance the golden colour in the leaves and to cool the rest of the print then another 30 minute wash then toning in selenium to bring back some depth to the shadows and improve contrast then a final 30 minute wash. Phew!
