I cut out of work early because I couldn't wait til the weekend to try some more plates. This is a park behind my house. Just a small run from my darkroom toilet to here.... :)
Oh and btw the dark edge on the right is because the level of my silver bath doesn't quite cover the plate....
I need to make a little more but I wanted to make plates instead
We may need to find you a twelve step program for wet platers....lol...great stuff Scott! Robert....P.S. You're development is getting much better. A lot less swirlies.
Thanks Robert.
I did have some that I rubbed off with my fingers. I think you were right about the swishing back and forth. I was much more careful this time. However, I think I'm also getting some silver 'building' on the edges while moving the holder around. During development it does it's dance on the plate
Scott. Do you have a little relief around the edges of your helper tray for the excess developer to run to? As you dial in you'll use less developer and the edges seem to get much cleaner. At least that is what I'm finding out as I progress. They look great! And in the amount of time without any personal instruction from the Masters...you're doing great! Robert
I'm working on slowing done that little wave moving across the plate. I'm trying to keep it constant with no pauses but slow it down considerably during development. Robert
Robert I was having trouble with the helper tray and pouring. So I'm trying the tilt tray in a 5X7 tray. There is some room around it. I was starting to wonder if it's even necessary to move a wave after the plate is covered. How do people do it in hand anyway?
