Thanks guys, always appreciate the comments. Since this is a first attemp at semi stand development with efke25, I'm very pleased with the results so far. The comment about the blown high values is a fair one. These are straight grade 2 prints, no alterations whatsoever.

There are a couple of things I'm pondering with this image. In the next shot, the specular highlights are blown out in the grill as well. The print retains full detail, with a small star in the center, a circle of light and a horizontal streak on each element, not evident in the scan. This scanner is a real P.O.S. as I've mentioned before. It seems to enjoy blowing out high values which retain fine detail in the print. If I try to correct with the (lousy) software, the image is altered and loses a lot in the translation. I've decided to keep things as they are in the scan, to be fair to the image. The other factor I'm aware of was the aperture while shooting the Bugatti, it wasn't stopped all the way down. This will cause a lot of loss of fine detail in highlights and high values with this film when on the ragged edge.

I may decide to back down development a minute or two in order to tame high values more, but the contrast in the print is about right. The highest values are just below paper white. It was a bright day with full fall sunlight, about 10:30 in the morning and a pure white paint job, which scans very poorly. My concern is that a lessening of development will cause the molten appearance of the chrome to become too murky.

Tim, I think one has to see the fine print to make an evaluation of the high values. This is a great car and a nice composition. Not bad for full sun. Keep us posted.
