developed in replenisher

developed in replenisher

I think this is one of the very first rolls I processed when I set up my own darkroom a few years ago. I'm posting it because I made a mistake I sort of ended up liking. I accidentally processed it using replenisher rather than developer. I don't know exactly how I mixed it, so don't know that I could repeat it. Anyway, he's my son.
I like the look of this also Janet. Too bad you can't duplicate it. Sometimes mistakes turn out nice.

Great portrait! The expression, grain, eyes and composition all work well together. Wish my "mistakes" turned out so well. tim

A very engaging portrait. Fortunate mistakes happen to those that try hard.

Ah! Those eyes! Actually i am struck by the high contrast look. Was that the lighting or the mistake? I may actually try this, since I imagine that it would be quite effective as a portrait effect in many cases..Great work. K

Thank you. He was sitting, facing a double window (with diffused lighting, through camellias) so it made for nice lighting. The high contrast look is because of the developing mistake... which I quite like. Thanks again.
