It seems to me that you have uneven development or your scan is giving the whole picture a gray look to it. There doesn't seem to be the snap with the snow and tree.
If this is how it looks I feel you need to check you developing for eveness and or your placemnt of the snow in the zone VIII location.
The composition looks great the placement of the little tree and big tree is perfect
