Ha! Well done for getting a picture of this character! He certainly seemed to be enjoying the late afternoon light as much as we all were - just in his own special way.

He knew that I was taking the shot all along and seemed to very happy that I'd want to take his picture.
May be a crop would make a stronger composition.

I wouldn't say it needs a crop, as such, because it's a good classic rule of thirds composition as it is. The only thing I might suggest is straightening the horizon.
