I see you've used a yellow filter for both shots. I should be trying that also for portraits. I have tried a couple of times with my orange film and wasn't so pleased about rendition of the skin.
Thank you. Actually, thinking back, it was probably a yellow-green rather than straight yellow. The yellow-green is nice for skin tones in sunny weather I find. The actual prints are much more "tonally correct" than my crummy scans, which seem a bit harsh. I wish I'd used a fill flash to get some light in his eyes though.
