Interesting image. I like the shadow of the telegraph/power pole balances out the composition. Nicely seen.

Nice work, Mike. Cool town. I've been there a couple times and for being a tourist hub it's still pretty chill. I like the high key look with these, it captures a bit of the feeling of intense sun that you get most everywhere in the keys. Best. Shawn

Great combo of shadows. The intense sun effect, giving quite a lot of featurerless highlights is to some extent negated by the soft sunlight feel that the picture conveys.

I wonder if a higher contrast might be better or the same contrast but with some texture in more of the highlights or at least less pure white.

Maybe I am talking through a hole in my proverbial as you have got a nice differentiation between the clapperboard and door and knob at the top of the staircase post and the rest of the post.

Bottomline is I am just not sure if what I have said would work. If it were my print I'd have this nagging doubt about higher contrast but it's your picture.

It is that very combination of high key tonalities and somewhat soft contrast that I believe makes this work. It really gives me the feeling of being in the intense light down there... a feeling where the shadows are not even fully safe from the sun. I'll bet it's even better in person. Nice work, Mike. Yes the print has a certain glow to it that is not on the screen. and it is slightly more contrasty. I have been using Oriental Seagull with Ansco 130 and have come upon a combination that works for me. My shadows are crispper and I now get gentle highlights with good separation. I feel I have finally found something that makes me happy. This print also is early morning which I find now to be my best time of the day. Which is a duh if you even know anything about photograph.
