You've got the rusit hulk/ghost ship atmosphere. Just the hint of a figure/face in one of the black windows would be superb but maybe its impossible to get anyone on board

It would be almost impossible and dangerous. The harbour master's 'control tower' type of building overlooks the ship and it is in such bad shape that anyone going in would probably fall through the deck.

A few months ago the funnel fell over and tore up part of the upper deck with it. It is rusting away with ever increasing speed so I visit regularly to document it's decline. Hopefully it will be left alone to deteriorate rather than be cut up and removed.

This sort of wreck fascinates me as well. Pity the IoW is so far away. Is the ship still floating or is it high and dry? In its present state, if still floating, you'd think that it would constitute a danger in the harbour. It's incredible to think that once it was a nightclub. It's like the kind of wrecks that are reputedly found on the skeleton coast in Namibia, some of which are now 100s of yards from the sea due to the shifting coast.

There must be some amazing sights there.

It's in its own little bit of water with a footpath around it so it is enclosed. It used to float in this location but not anymore - too many holes.

It could never be towed out as (i) it's not floating and (ii) they would need to dig out a channel to join it back up to the river.
I expect it will just stay there and eventually rust away.

I love any kind of "derelicts" from yesteryear. In Port Erin IoM there is an outdoor swimming pool in the bay which used sea water and only closed in the mid 70s' and had been in existence since Victorian times. It's in a bit of a state now but it's still recognisable as a swimming pool and the tourist office still carries old brown pictures of its heyday.

When you walk around it at dusk you can almost hear the people splashing in the water in their Edwardian costumes.

I find it very atmospheric just as this ship must be.
