Gathering Rocks Original

To be honest I like this original image better than either crops. I feel this gives the best portrayal of the boulder field. I believe that if you printed this image with a bit cropped at the top, to remove the sky, this would be an amazing image. The bottom left needs dodged, but a scan never tells you the real information in a negative if you're printing traditionally. You'll need a soft proof or work print to see where you're at.

I believe the tree to left of center and the strong foreground makes this image interesting. Without it, I think it would be mediocre. Thanks for sharing!

Michael, I prefer this one as well. It conveys a much larger sense of scale

thank you for your comments. I believe I will have to print all three and maybe mount them to see which one I like. Digital Just doesn't do it for me for finalizing anything, but it does give you a place to start.

I prefer the original as well, Mike. Looks like the top of the image could use a little punch but otherwise I think it great. Good luck with whatever you decide! Best. Shawn

thanks, I try not to do to much to a negative scan because it isn't a scan of the print. It was hazy that morning after a rain, but your right I will more than likely work on the tone of the background when I print it.
