An elderly lady that lives by me needed help getting her boat ready for winter so I helped her get it out of the water and after looking at it I thought I'd bring my camera back to photograph it.
And who said photographers just want to take pics... \"What a nice lad\" as the lady down the street used to say.
Looks like you should have brought along a fishing rod too...
Mike: there are so many scenes around the swamps here of similar composition, I have never considered it other than a stereotype. On seeing your post, I have now changed my mind and will endeavor to produce a decent future image. I will not, however attempt to compete with this one.
My description was written first thing this am and it came off wrong. It sounds too self serving with the "help the old lady out." What I really menat to convey is that this old lady goes out and rows this boat around!!! And she loves it. Her little boat has so much character and on nice summer nights it's very refreshing to see her out enjoying life in her little rowboat. Notice the chain she uses to lock it up?
VERY nice, Mike! This is a great print. I think it was sweet of you to help her, and the photo is definitely a fabulous reward! I love the shadows across the bottom of the boat.
