Michael you do some interesting photography but the frame affect really hurts you. It cheapens the work because the frame is such a gimmick, your work can stand on it's own.
Michael,
I agree with Brian, the frame looks terrible... The image however looks interesting, wish the extra pixels were dedicated to a larger image area. All the best. Shawn
I won't get into judging your work on anything other than the aesthetics of the photography. To me these images of yours are strong and good photographs. I wish that I had made them.
I go back and forth on this frame thing. I like it on my website because it gives it a finished look. You are right about the work should be able to stand alone. It just makes it easier for me to do this once and then send it to APUG and my website.
Again thank you very much for the nice comments.
I think the worse thing about the frame is how it burns down the top and right side of all your images darker with a shadow. Sure, I can look past the frame at the image, but when it's starting to change the tones and burning/dodging in your photographs, thats not good.
Ryan,
I agree I will be loosing the frames in future photos. I guess if you don't try something you will never know if it works or having your peers letting you know what they think. It has been a good learning curve and I thank all of you for helping me understand what works and what doesn't.
