Saturna Carcas - Spring 2006

Very nice composition and tones. I didn't realize Warmtone was so warm. I haven't tried my batch yet.

I believe an old buddy of mine that I worked with in China years ago lives on Saturna. Mike Stewart? If you happen to know him, say hi from John Addison.

John, the Ilford was developed in Agfa Neutal WA. It was followed with a split selenium/sepia toning. I don't think the scan's colour is quite accurate, but close enough. I can't say I know Mike Stewart. My one and only contact for this wonderfully quiet island is the man whose house I rent from time to time.

Haven't been there in years, but it must have livened up a bit! I heard the local winery was on the news a few days ago.

I've been basically working away and out of my darkroom for a couple of years, but my new supplies have arrived including the Ilford warmtone, selenium and sepia toners. As soon as I get through my wife's catch-up list, I'll try the split toning. The depth and tones in your picture are great. Presumably the methodology is described in Tim Rudman's Toning Book.

This looks radiant. It has a wonderful feeling about it.
