Waiting To Die

This is my first image uploaded to the forum, so be gentle. =)

I took this picture in Varanasi, India. Varanasi is the Hindu holy city. It is believed that if you die there and your ashes are spread in the Ganges river, then you will be freed from reincarnation and go directly to heaven. This woman has travelled to Varanasi to die.

I'm speachless! I'm learning a lot about Hindi, Siekh, and other cultures of India. It's a fascinating country, and this certainly is the proof of that. What an amazing photograph! Thanks for sharing this.
